Barbers are more than just good looking. The Lions Barber Collective is a group of top hairdressers who help raise awareness to prevent suicide.
How can a barber help prevent suicide? The Barber Talk program builds on the relationship between a barber and a client and the conversations that take place during a haircut.
Trained hairdressers learn how:
Recognize signs of mental health problems such as depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
Entertain themselves to sensitively address clientele, to encourage them to speak and to feel well.

The Lions Barber Collective not only wants to tackle mental health problems, it also looks good. Her artistic team produces and annually Lookbook with hairstyles from selected members. The proceeds will go to charity, future projects, education and development.
Here are some of the barbers who belong to the collective and examples of their work.
