It just does not stop, even just before Christmas, there is still something to win and an Oral-B Smart Series, which is guaranteed to bring a shiny smile to your face. Oral-B was so kind and gave us their flagship for the last lottery before Christmas. But before you start using the new toothbrush, there’s some information about Oral-B, a short introduction to the Smart Series, before you find out at the end of the article how to get the toothbrush.
Oral-B – Dental care products for a radiant smile
Oral-B is not an independent company, but rather a part, a multinational. Until October 1, 2005 Oral-B was incorporated into the Gillette Company, since then it is part of Procter & Gamble. Furthermore, well-known brands such as Gillette (razors), Braun (electrical appliances) and Duracell and Daimon (batteries) belong to Procter & Gamble.
Oral-B was founded in 1921 initially as Braun. In 1978, the D1 came on the market, which was sold in Germany about 650,000 times. For the successor, the D3, a total of 4.3 million customers around the world decided. At that time, the toothbrushes were still equipped with elongated brush heads, which changed only in the early 90s.
In 1991, the Oral-B D5 launched the first electric toothbrush with a “specific electric” cleaning technique. The toothbrush has the today still characteristic round brush head – this invention helped the electric oral care to the big breakthrough. The 3D technology combines the proven sideways movement with up to 40,000 forward and backward movements (pulsations) per minute. The interaction of the two independent movements results in a high cleaning efficiency.
In 2006, the Cochrane Report, a meta-analysis of 354 clinical trials worldwide, focused on the effects of hand and electric toothbrushes. This clearly proves scientifically that the electric oral care with a rotating-pulsating technology is superior to the conventional manual toothbrushes. This, of course, speaks in favor of oral toothbrushes from Oral-B and strengthens their position on the market.
The Oral-B Triumph with SmartGuide came on the market in 2007 and has a special feature on an external display, the so-called SmartGuide on. The SmartGuide helps the user to motivate and gives this feedback when he puts a lot of pressure on the tooth.
In 2009, another feature was introduced, which is already present in my current toothbrush, the visual pressure control. Through this, the user of the toothbrush has the opportunity to further optimize his daily oral care: For a clearly visible glow on the handpiece signals him if he has to reduce the plaster pressure. Extremely practical as I think, because you really do not notice when you press it too tight or not.
The Smart Series you can win here is one of Oral-B’s newest toothbrushes and, compared to last year’s premium product, the Black 7000, it’s a whole lot more sophisticated because you can link it to your smartphone. So you can adjust to a via app his own personal dental care or can be set by his own dentist. On the other hand, brushing your teeth through information and entertainment becomes more entertaining. She looks pretty stylish too. But now more …
The Smart Series from Oral-B – that’s what it can do
For myself, I’ve already noticed that the Oral-B PRO 7000 Smart Series, the toothbrush par excellence for every technology-loving man and, of course, woman. Because this can be connected via Bluetooth 4.0 technology with the smartphone and in conjunction with the free of charge Oral-B App ( iOS / Android ) allows a completely personalized oral care program. The toothbrush also has six cleaning modes including tongue cleaner, an external Smart Guide and a triple pressure control.
Another highlight is the CrossAction brush head used, which is inspired by professional cleaning equipment. Thus, the bristles are arranged at a dynamic 16 degree angle and, together with the small brush head, allow each tooth to be individually enclosed during cleaning. The oblique bristles continue to ensure that they reach deep into the interdental spaces. This provides more plaque removal and a cleaner mouth compared to a traditional manual toothbrush.
If you do not want to use the Oral-B app, you can alternatively use the wireless SmartGuide, which helps in real-time with the daily oral care. For example, the Kieferquadranten-Guide displays the dentist’s recommended cleaning time of two minutes (three minutes in deep cleaning mode) and when it’s time to move on to the next jaw quadrant. The display includes different brushing modes and the Quadrant Guide to assist with daily oral care.
For me, especially the special indicator bristles of the toothbrush are helpful. Because these have faded to the middle, then the brush should be changed to ensure optimum cleaning performance. Dentists recommend changing the brush head every three months. More information about the Oral-B PRO 7000 Smart Series toothbrush can be found here or in the video below.
